Goosebumps is a 2015 3D fantasy horror comedy film based on the all too famous book series of the same name by R.L. Stine. Which stars Jack Black, (his comedic prowess never disappoints) who plays the role of R.L. Stine, Odeya Rush plays Hannah Stine, Dylan Minnette plays Zachary Cooper and Ryan Lee as Champ, Zach’s new friend( you are in for a lot of laughs, the most scared characters are the funniest).
This is the tale of a teenage boy Zach who moves to the new town of Madison with his mother, he gets to meet his new neighbor Hanna, a delightful and beautiful girl and her father who is sinister and seems dark who discourages any contact between the two, he’s just being protective and for a very good reason so that her secret is not revealed.
The horror begins when by accident Zach and Champ accidentally release a Yeti, yes a Yeti in Hanna’s house from a Goosebumps manuscript, turns out Hanna’s father is the Goosebumps author R.L Stine who created the creature stories in his child hood as a way to escape from his bully tormentors, but the monsters came to life and he had to lock them inside their manuscripts.
In the film you get to see Slappy, a ventriloquist’s dummy who doesn’t like who he is “Who are you calling dummy….Dummy” he is the main antagonist who goes on to sadistically release all the other monsters and burning their manuscripts cages. Zach suggests Stine write a new book to trap every monster, but he can only do it on a special typewriter which is at their high school, but writing a new book won’t be easy as it seems…
