guild “a medieval association of craftsmen or merchants, often having considerable power.”

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) is a non profit making institution representing the interested of film producers in the US, making it one of the most powerful organizations in Hollywood. Given that the organization represents over 7,000 producers, the PGA Awards surely must be the best representation of what was a great movie or TV program as voted by those who make film.

Held in January, the Producers Guild Awards is a must-attend event for the film industry, and represents a unique chance for PGA members to extend their network, support their Guild, and pay tribute to the best of their profession. The 27th Annual Producers Guild Awards was held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, USA and featured among others, a perfect musical performance by Lady Gaga.

Shonda Rhimes received the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television while Big Short (2015), a movie about the guys who bet that the US economy would crash and benefited from it, won big at the awards ceremony.
