The media can brainwash the world. They can make you think that there were no black actors in the ‘white’ dominated Oscars of 2016. This is not the case. There were black actors and actresses but the issue was their roles were minor.

Take for example The Big Short (2015) movie. There were at least two black female actresses:

  1. Adepero Oduye: She hails from Nigeria and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She is a graduate of Cornell University; and her first major role was in 12 Years a Slave, another Oscar Nominated movie of 2012. In the Big Short she plays the minor role of character called Katy Tao.

  2. Colette Divine: She has made apperances in Devious Maids as a cop, and Southland, with her major break featuring in the Oscar nominated movie The Big Short (2015).
